Public Lighting Management Systems Projects

Northern Emirates
(2020-2022)

The Project covers more than 120km of roads and 10’000 luminaires. Full Adaptive Road Lighting is implemented for the first time in the GCC. The ARL PLMS saves up to 65% of energy compared with 100% operation of the LED lighting. A complete CMS operating on Revetec's Maestro 3 platform is installed at MOEI.

Noor 2 Abu Dhabi (2024-2025)

Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs (DMT) and Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) in collaboration with Abu Dhbi Investmenr Office (ADIO) replaced 134,000 conventional luminaires with high performance LED luminaires and Revetec’s smart control system PLMS across 11,000 km². This achieved 77% energy savings (288 GWh/year), cutting 112,000 tons of CO₂ and saving AED 84M (EUR 21M) annually. The 134,000 nodes connect via 530 intelligent gateways to a TALQ2-compatible CMS, ensuring high interoperability and secure, encrypted communication.

Abu Dhabi Cycling Tracks (2024-2025)

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has developed approximately 240 km of dedicated cycling tracks, creating one of the region’s most extensive active-mobility networks. All tracks are illuminated using carbon-neutral solar lighting poles, supplying both the luminaires and the Public Lighting Management System (PLMS) on 24 VDC. In total, around 6,000 luminaires have been installed, each equipped with a Zhaga-compliant control node to enable individual monitoring and control. The system gateways are also solar-powered, operated via PV panels wrapped around the poles. To ensure optimal operation and clear system separation, the client required a dedicated PLMS Central Management System  exclusively for the cycling infra-structure. The system is operated using Revetec's Maestro 3 platform, providing reliable, scalable, and energy-efficient lighting control tailored to active-mobility environments. This project represents a benchmark for sustainable and fully renewable public lighting, supporting Abu Dhabi’s 2050 net zero goal, safety, and high-quality urban infrastructure.
